I am never that excited by salads but I got this idea in my head a while ago and wanted to give it a try. You always see pear served with salty cheese so salty prosciutto was a perfect pairing.

It didn’t disappoint. SO delicious.

The best thing, is that it took about 5 minutes to make. You could easily impress with these winning ingredients as a starter for a dinner party too.

  • Prosciutto
  • Pear
  • Olive Oil
  • Pecans
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • water
  • rocket salad leaves

Use one pear per person, lucky for me, I was eating for one.

Grab a handful of pecans and chuck into a saucepan on a medium heat. Shake occasionally and toast for around 3 minutes until they start to colour.

Place the nuts to one side.

In the same pan, add the quartered pear and drizzle with the maple syrup, about a tsp worth. This will caramelise with the sugars in the pear, add a few drops of water occasionally and turn the pear segments.

Once they gain good colour, dress the rocket leaves in olive oil and scatter the pecans with and prosciutto.

Add the pears and season.

  1. Good combo Nico!! Guess what I’m making for lunch now?……

  2. I love this! I’m probably gonna add a bit of blue cheese because pear and blue cheese just go together like pb and j but I will definitely be having this this week for lunch! THanks so much for the inspiring idea!
